About Lin

Hi! I’m Linda de Leeuwerk - van Bielder,

Call me just Lin for ease (because Dutch surnames are a hassle).

A short introduction;

I left the Netherlands in 2006 after finishing my Hospitality Management degree, and have since moved & travelled around the world with my partner in life & (later on) our children.

Being a stay ‘Trailing Spouse’ (actually I prefer the title CEO of the household) gave me the opportunity to find my passion, get certified as a travel advisor, and work how, when and where I am needed, whilst being there for my family.

It sounds weird, but I’m a real homebody who loves to go and travel & also loves to come home back to routine. We live in central Bangkok, so to be honest, coming home is also exciting.

This year alone, we’ve taken our family on a road- and ski trip to the Japanese alps, a road trip including safari and whale watching in Sri Lanka, an official run on the Great Wall of China and several luxurious hotel stays in beach towns in Thailand, as well as our yearly trip home to the Netherlands.

The above is not to show off, but just to let you know that I’m not just advising you from behind my desk, but also living travel myself and advising from the heart & my own experiences.

My specialities are Japan (I lived there for 7 years) and Thailand, but being a FORA Advisor allows me to book anywhere in the world through the FORA Portal and Expedia TAAP. With continuous training, through the network of advisors we have worldwide, and the good old internet - all the information is at my fingertips to research and present information to you in a condensed and easy to read format.

The only thing you need to do is to make the decisions!

Feel free to contact me for a complimentary introductory chat to see if I’m the right advisor for you.

Some of my personal favorites;

Best hotels: Wild Coast Tented Lodge (Sri Lanka) & Singita’s Faru Faru Lodge (Tanzania). I also absolutely loved the Park Hyatt Paris Vendome.

Favorite airport: I love all the fun aspects of Amsterdam Schiphol (how patriotic), like the museum and glass floor to see the suitcases pass by.

Most iconic trip: Our safari to Tanzania with Singita.

Favorite country: This is a hard one. Definitely Thailand (especially Koh Tao and Koh Lipe), but for travel, Japan is also great.

Next trip: South China is upcoming next month!

Travel wish: Australian road trip with the kids before they fly the nest and a diving trip to Raja Ampat.
